Aileene is a twice graduate of the University of Rhode Island achieving two Bachelor degrees, one in Zoology and a second in Physical Education and Exercise Science.  She specialized in Exercise Science, Fitness and Wellness, and Nutrition while obtaining her Physical Education degree and was also involved with the Health and Aging Promotion Partnership Group.

Aileene is a Certified Health Fitness Instructor (HFI) through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Aileene is a Certified Yoga Teacher having studied Hatha Yoga under Ganga White and Tracey Rich and a Certified Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner having trained under Phoebe Diftler.  Both of these courses were given at the White Lotus Fundation in Santa Barbara, CA.

Aileene obtained her Nutrition Specialist certification through Lifestyle Management Associates and is trained in Functional Movement Screening through Perform Better under Gray Cook and Lee Burton.  Aileene also has completed Kettlebell Training under Kevin Cooper DC, CSCS, RKC.

Aileene has been a certified lifeguard since 1990 and certified in ACLS, CPR/AED, and First Aid.  She is also a NAUI Master Diver and NAUI Rescue Diver.

With over 7 years experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a hospital-based weight management program, she has extensive knowledge and practice in the field of weight loss and obesity, and other diseases and conditions.  Both the Providence Journal and Valley Breeze newspapers have interviewed her for articles on fitness.

In her spare time, she is a competitive New England Master swimmer and open water swimmer.  She has run in many road races from 5k to 10 miles and also has tried her hand at triathlon and aquathon.  She enjoys water sports, skiing, Yoga, reading, and taking her chihuahua J.J. to the beach.
